WHO WE ARE
Welcome to the Esan Association of Michigan
We are a 501(c) non-governmental organization (NGO) family bound by heritage, history, and a shared commitment to keeping the Esan identity alive for generations to come. Founded in June 2009 by four visionary women, we have grown into a thriving community serving Esan families and allies across Michigan, Ohio, and beyond.
Through cultural education, community service, youth development, and social engagement, we strive to celebrate our traditions and create meaningful connections within the Esan community and the larger Michigan society.
Our Core Values

OUR HISTORY
The Esan Association of Michigan was founded by four visionary women: Mrs. Bose Ojemudia, Mrs. Juliet Abulu, Mrs. Ativie, and Ms. Mable.
Our inaugural meeting was hosted at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Ojemudia. The inspiration for the group emerged when Esan members within the Edo North Association recognized a unique opportunity. They realized that forming a dedicated organization would foster stronger unity among the Esan people residing in Michigan. Additionally, a distinct local association would allow members to connect directly with the Esan World Congress, our global national body.
Driven by this vision, our founders established our independent group, proudly naming it the Esan Association of Michigan.
